Leafing through ideas for this week’s #TBT article, I stumbled across an old flame of mine. This love, encapsulated in a single runway photograph from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2007 Ready-To-Wear line, continues to act as one of my life’s muses. This image exuded a mood I yearned for. One of femininity and romance. It took my imagination to a mystical world where man and earth lived as one.
The daydreamer in me feels at home in the above composition’s wonderland of Parisian style. Perhaps you have felt a similar feeling after discovering a certain painting or musical piece. If you have not yet experienced such a feeling, I imagine it all sounds like extreme overkill.
Moving beyond this single photograph lays an entire spring line of enchanting apparel and accessories. Designed by Louis Vuitton’s now former Artistic Director, Marc Jacobs, the runway was a fanciful dance of soft layers and fairy-like dresses. Amplifying this fresh mood, were seasonally appropriate accessories including colorful handbags (remember the L.V. handbag rage of the time?) filled with fresh flowers, as well as matching hair adornments. Behind each completed look was expert Makeup Artist, Pat McGrath and Hair Guru, Guido Pauleo. The show’s end result was a scene out of a fairy tale.
As 2017’s spring season comes to an end, it seemed fitting to pay tribute, writing an ode to this line, ten years in the past. I hope you find a delight similar to my own for this L.V. season. Open your heart and mind, and relish in the creativity that surrounds you everyday. Embrace that which moves you!
