SAIC’s Fashion Show Celebrates Equality

The season of spring fashion shows continued as student designs from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago made their way down the runway this past Friday. The school’s Fashion Design Department, in connection with the world-renowned Art Institute of Chicago museum, is widely acknowledged as a top educational establishment in the field. With the school year coming to an end, all eyes were on the student exhibits and events. In particular, the SAIC Fashion Show has a history of drawing attention worldwide.

This year’s runway show continued its newsworthy trend as the ‘place to be’ in the art world. Creativity filled the air at Venue Six10 at the Spertus Institute located on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. With gusto and drama, student work made its way down the runway as works of art. This year’s event focused on the theme of equality, questioning the standards of today’s society. Their responses can be seen in the avant-garde mood of the designs. The innovation displayed made quite a statement also in terms of the creative level of the senior students. We send our congratulations to all the student designers on an inspiring night of fashion.
