‘A State of Fashion’ at MOWA

As a creative, fashion-motived individual, I often find reprieve in visiting a local art museum. I often leave, gleaming with inspiration, ready for whatever the day may bring. That being said, I was very excited to learn that the Museum of Wisconsin Art‘s summer programs are filled with fashion and design programs and exhibits.

After hosting The Art Ball signature fundraiser event earlier this month, the excitement continues with ‘A State of Fashion’. The community is abuzz with excitement to have fashion become a staple at this institution. At the recent opening for the Contemporary Threads: Wisconsin Fashion exhibition, designers and curators were present to celebrate the occasion. A tour, curated by Miranda Levy-Adler, led guests around the gallery of designer garments. Among the designers who joined the occasion were Heidi Witz, Shanon Molter, Linda Breshears Marcus, and Lynne Dixon-Speller.

In addition to the exhibition, there are other amazing activities and events yet to come. These include a Project Runway Portfolio Review and Panel on August 5th, a Master Studio Classes with the designers on August 12th and 19th, Junior Fashion Camps in July and August and MOWA on the Road on September 9th. The main exhibit will remain open through August 20th. Plan your visit today and don’t miss out on all the other great activities!
